The cornerstone designed by Jeremy Reding, and donated by J.F. Bloom & Company.   There were 2 tents and 2 dozen chairs, courtesy of Barry Larson & Son, Inc.
     
 
Each one registered upon arrival and names were gathered in a special box for a raffle.   The Sisters gathered for a briefing with Sr Theresina.
     
 
Fr Ryberg, Sr Clare, Fr Schlegel, SJ, & Abbot Theodore, OSB seated and ready for the event to start.   Sr Theresina gave the words of welcome to a good & beautiful morning, and to Christ, our Cornerstone!
     
 
The special choir led us to sing Jim Nailon's "Upon This Stone".   Abbot Theodore, OSB signing the official document for the time capsule, courtesy of Atty Daniel Ryberg.
     
 
Sr Theresina takes her turn to sign the Declaration & Affirmation of Commitment.   St. Clare Fraternity documents were presented by Sybil Haller, SFO, and Larry Reynek, SFO.

Larry Reding and Lu Vavak presented the Portiuncula communications.   Fr Daniel Lenz, OSB presented 2 copies of the lease agreement.
     
 
Sr Maria presenting 2 copies of the founding Poor Clare Community roster.   All the documents found their way into the time capsule for the cornerstone, and time capsule for the monastery archives.
     
 
Sr Theresina gets ready to place the time capsule into the cornerstone.   The Sisters took turns to place mortar on the cornerstone, as a symbol of their commitment to Christ, and to God's People.
     
 
Sr Virginia hands the trowel to Sr Theresina, the last to place mortar on the cornerstone.   Abbot Theodore, OSB giving the exhortation to all the "living stones" present.
     
 
Fr John P. Schlegel, SJ offers the prayer...   and we all extended our hands towards the cornerstone.

Sr Theresina explains how the laying of the cornerstone always included the manifestation of support for the building.   Setting up the pledge table.
     
 
An exhibit included a poster showing the 2.9 million we still need to raise.  The easels are courtesy of Tom Heaffey.   Prizes for the raffle included a San Damiano Cricifix from Cosgrave, Rotella baskets, golf balls, a beauty basket, Poor Clare coffee cakes and assorted cards.

Listening attentively to the lucky names called...   The special group that added beautiful music to a beautiful and joyfilled event.
     
 
David Webber so kindly offered time to emcee our significant event.   Our Benedictine brothers were there...
